At the end of an installation, it’s very important that we review the water softener with its new owner and make sure they know all the ins and outs. We always want to make sure they’re familiar with all the fundamentals, like being able to put it in vacation mode and set the time. If it’s a salt unit, we also want to make sure to talk about what kind of product to use.
Next, we make sure to document and test the water to make sure the actual results show the softener is correcting the raw water. After that, typically somewhere between 30 to 50 days after the unit is put in, we will have the water treatment specialist come back to the home to do a final followup test of the water to again ensure that the unit is performing how it’s supposed to. The specialist will also make sure that there are no other questions or issues that may have come up since the unit has been used. We take these steps because we highly believe in providing a conclusive water test that proves that the equipment you paid for is indeed working to correct the water.
We also care about making sure that the water softener will continue to work properly further down the road. Just like your car or any other piece of equipment, all water treatment units need to be properly maintained. In fact, the worse the water is, the more important it is that ongoing maintenance is performed. We have agreements and service contracts to take care of all this for you, so you don’t have to worry about it yourself. However, sometimes people choose to take care of some of the maintenance on their own. In that case, we can come over once a year just to perform some of the more heavy maintenance. However you choose to go about it, keeping current with a water softener’s maintenance is extremely important to the long-term results that it can provide.
