Just like the spring season brings about changes outdoors, we’ve also made quite a few changes here at Wisler Plumbing. These changes involve how we interact with both our clients and individuals within our organization. At the beginning of this year I came to the realization that I wanted to refocus our whole organization. It starts with a refreshed list of core values: faith (first and foremost), family, provide, and courage.
The first change falls under the core value of faith. We’ve made the decision not to run service calls on Sunday unless the situation is extremely urgent. We will only make a service call if one of our clients is in danger or there is a serious water leak that needs to be addressed immediately. The reason why we made this change is simply because we want the day to be reserved for family time and worship. Of course, we’ll still be reachable by phone on Sundays. Our clients can still call in to speak with us or schedule an appointment. However, we will not be dispatching technicians unless it’s a dire emergency.
The next change we’re making is to extend our regular appointment times. Regular hours used to end at 5 p.m. and that time has now been extended until 7 p.m. In addition to our extended regular hours, we’re also running regular appointments on Saturday. This extra time will allow us to better meet the needs of our clients.
Another one of our primary focus points this year has been making sure that Wisler Plumbing is an awesome place for our employees to work. That’s why we’ve been making some positive changes in our company’s overall culture. I think this is important because happy employees will lead to happy clients. Everybody who puts their trust in this organization really loves the experience of being greeted with positive, happy people.
When it comes to the core value of courage, we think it takes calculated risks to reach our goals. If you’re complacent and not diligent enough to take calculated risks, then you’re never going to grow (as a person or as a company). It takes courage to step out of your comfort zone and try different things. That’s a big part of our organization and we intend to build on that idea as time goes on.
We’ve been implementing some of these changes since February of this year. We’re going to continue to expand on our strategies and make any adjustments that are necessary. The goal is to make steady improvements on our daily routine based on the refreshed list of core values.
If you have any questions or suggestions about how we’re pursuing our core values of faith, family, provide, and courage, contact us online or give us a call at (540) 685-0366. I also wrote an article in our most recent newsletter discussing some of the recent changes.13
