Alleviating the Stress of Sticker Shock

One of the worst things about doing a home repair can be seeing the final bill. Wisler Plumbing alleviates the stress from small jobs with our straightforward pricing program. When clients need their leaky faucet fixed or their toilet replaced, the straightforward pricing program offers some great benefits.

First of all, our objective is to reduce any risks involved in the purchase by giving the price in writing before any work takes place. Instead of charging by the hour or by the part, we base the cost on each task. (A single task would be something like changing the caulking around a toilet or the cartridge in a faucet.) Each task has a set amount that we charge. That way, it will prevent the customer for being penalized for time or material.

Some technicians take longer to do a job than others. If a client were to be visited by a technician that took longer to do a task, they should not be penalized. Since each technician has a unique skill set with different specialties, we want our pricing structure to stay consistent regardless of who does the job. Straightforward pricing accomplishes that, and we feel that hourly time and material pricing is not the optimal solution for the client.

If clients were charged for hourly time, they would probably feel the need to closely monitor the technician to make sure they get done quickly. This creates an uneasy feeling for the client, but it also makes the technician feel as if he should rush the job. Instead, we think we can create a win-win outcome when the pricing is fairly determined by the task itself, and not how quickly it is done.

Home repairs can end up being very expensive. The worst feeling for clients is when they are uncertain of what the final cost will be. Straightforward pricing prevents this uncertainty by being upfront with exactly how much each task will cost. In a previous post, we talked about our line by line itemized proposal. The price we give is down to the penny of what clients will pay when the job is done. If anything were to change during the job, we would stop, communicate clearly, and create the new price so that everyone is on the same page.

The price you see is the price you payโ€”this is a phrase that is used frequently, but we stand behind it with our straightforward pricing. If you have any questions, give us a call today at ย (540) 352-4262.
