Making the Investment in Remodeling

Investing in a remodeling project can sometimes be overwhelming. There are many different cost factors that go into any large/long-term project. Thatโ€™s why it is very important that homeowners always obtain a detailed proposal before starting any project.

Homeowners need to have an understanding of how costs are broken down for each area of their project. The line-by-line proposal that we give to clients shows exactly how much each task such as demolition, plumbing, electrical wiring, and materials is going to cost. Glancing through the proposal gives clients all the information they need to decide if anything needs to be tweaked. For example, clients may choose to do the painting themselves in order to reduce some of the cost. If they had a total figure in mind, they can determine if the actual costs involved meet their budget and make changes as necessary.

Ultimately, a line item proposal helps understand all the costs that might have otherwise caused sticker shock. The power is in the clientโ€™s hands to become more flexible to get the project done within their budget. If a client had anticipated installing a glass shower door as part of their project, the line item proposal would indicate exactly how much the dollar amount would be. The client may have had a perception of how much items like this would cost (which may have been drastically different from the companyโ€™s perception). By clearly showing the cost in writing, everybody will be on the same page.

One of the standards we have at Wisler Plumbing is to give an upfront price in writing before any work is done. The line proposal shows exactly what is included, item by item, in the remodeling project. We never want the customer to be surprised or uninformed about the costs involved in a project, and this is how we protect clients from ever falling into that situation.

There are many different things that can contribute to the cost of a remodeling project. Therefore, we think it is important show our clients how each task breaks down cost wise. Homeowners will be completely satisfied with the projectโ€™s end cost before even getting started.

Clear expectations are very important to usโ€”there is no fine print or uncertainty involved with WIsler Plumbing. If you have any questions about how our line by line proposals work, you can reach us by giving us a call at (540) 352-4262 or contact us here.
