We have our roots as a plumbing company, but it just makes sense to have your plumber take care of your water treatment needs, too. Thatโs because water treatment equipment is installed in the plumbing system. Itโs not a good idea to have a water treatment company that is incompetent with plumbing. Improper water treatment equipment installation can end up resulting in problems with the plumbing system.
When we come into someoneโs home, we bring our plumbing expertise along with us. The water treatment systems we install will use the same piping that is in your home. You wonโt end up with an installation that looks like an add-in. We will use the same pipe material already in your homeโif you have PVC, copper, or any other material, we will match it. (Of course, if you have very old piping that is galvanized or iron, we will have to use a different material because those are no longer allowed.) Weโll leave your house with an installation thatโs neat and tidy.
Iโve visited homes in the past where it looks like the unit has been placed on the floor with pipes looping around it. It can end up looking very unprofessional. As a homeowner, if I went downstairs into the basement and saw an installation like that, it would make me nervous. Weโre not like thatโwe care about our customersโpeace of mind and confidence. Weโre more interested about the results and functionality of the equipment. For example, we will put in test ports after the unit is installed in order to take a sample. We can perform an on-site test to ensure that the units are working optimally.
Another thing to consider is the location of the filter. It has to be placed at an easily accessible location because the filter cartridges must be changed every so often. If careful thought isn’t given to where the filter is located, that can result in difficulty when trying to make a replacement. It is then more likely that filter changes will cause a break or a leak. A lot of times, we install the filter cartridge above the tank. This allows you to easily take the lid off and change the filter, letting the water flow into the tank and not get all over the floor/ceiling.
Many other installers place the filters in the piping system without any bracing or mounting systems. Whenever you use a wrench on the filter, the resulting force can cause weakness or even damage. Weโve gone on several calls where someone tried to change the filter and ended up breaking the piping due to the strain and lack of support system or mounting bracket. We make sure these incidents donโt happen to our customersโwe put careful thought into the installation process so things are done properly.
