With all the work and responsibilities in our lives, my wife Katie and I rarely have much time to sit back and watch much TV. Whenever we get the chance to watch something, it’s usually centered around our kids (who love to watch TV). Kid’s shows might not be especially fun for adults, but here’s some of the family-friendly shows that we like to watch.
As our children have gotten a little older, we try to be conscientious of the shows that they view, and try to make sure that the programs have balance. Some shows are purely entertainment, of course, while others are educational. We’re trying to be a little more intentional about their viewing habits.
Just like most other kids, our boy and girl like to watch Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. Shows like Bibleman and Owlegories are Christian-based shows that share a meaningful message. Then there are shows like Paw Patrol and Blaze and the Monster Machines, which are especially popular in our house. They can be more educational than some of the other shows out there.
My kids are infatuated with American Ninja Warrior, and every time they watch it, it’s almost as if a light switch flips within them. They get hyped up and start jumping around from couch to chair, and even on the bed. We try to ration out that show a little bit because our house gets crazy after we watch it. They really love the competitive aspect and they also have their favorite contestants who are trying to become the next Ninja Warrior. It’s a fun show to watch.
